If you're interested in teaching music at all levels of instruction, 91ΧΤΕΔ provides the highest level of teacher preparation and a wide variety of field experiences. Upon successful completion of this program, you will be eligible for full certification to teach music in all grades (Pre-K–12) in Rhode Island.

Auditions are required for music, theater and dance majors at RIC.
You don't need to wait to be admitted to RIC in order to audition, but we recommend that you at least have your Admissions application completed by your audition date.

Upon completion of this program, students will be:
Declaring a minor allows you to explore other areas of interest and make interdisciplinary connections. Minor areas at RIC complement and reinforce all major areas of study. By declaring a minor, you can set yourself apart as a candidate for job, internship and volunteer opportunities.
